Now I am having the same problem with my youngest when he turned 1 -_- BUT I have discovered a few months ago both my boys will happily scoff back a vege/chicken curry I make, so I make that once or twice a week (I roast up 2 big chickens and cook extra veges, then use the left overs the next day to make it. Or sometimes make up Cauliflower curry soup from the Wheat Belly book if cauliflower is nice and cheap, and use that.) Unfortunately they will only eat it with rice, but for me personally I would rather them have a decent amount of veges a couple of days a week than cut out the rice completely so it is a compromise I am willing to take 🙂

Hi Mylene, my first question will be did you substitute any ingredient in the recipe? If the outside is cooking faster it probably means that the center of the tortillas was thicker in the center. Also another thing could be that you did not squeeze out all the water from the zucchini leaving some moisture in the batter that make it harder to cook. Finally if it is not golden and the outside crisp too fast it could be a too warm oven. Always cook on fan bake mode to ensure that the tortillas cook well evenly. I hope this help! Hi I’m new to Keto. I have been reading about it, and understanding what to eat and what not to eat. My problem is I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly. I’m constantly hungry whereas information reads that I will never be hungry. I use fats as required along with topping up with vegetables in my meals yet this does not fill me up. I haven’t experienced the Keto flu and I’ve even put on weight! I have been doing this for about 3 weeks now. Any ideas where I am going wrong.

Hi Stephanie. First, if the chocolate pudding isn’t SUPER thick tomorrow after it sets, then don’t add the almond milk. Keep it as is. You can use a mini food processor, large food processor or even a blender (this will be a slower process) instead of a coffee grinder. BTW, I use my coffee grinder for spices, nuts, seeds, and coconut all of the time. It has been more than worth it’s price and I’ve had it for at least 15 years. If you don’t have any of these appliances, you can chop finely by hand. The texture will be a little more coarse, but should be fine. Let me know if you have any more questions. Hi Cherie, you can use coconut milk. Some people have had problems with the chocolate layer setting up when the almond milk is mixed with it the next day. It’s usually because they didn’t cook the pudding long enough. If your pudding isn’t super thick and almost solid, then don’t add the extra milk. You should be able to use cocoa butter as an alternative fat. All chocolate that meets the standard of identity in the US uses not only the ground cocoa bean but also additional cocoa butter. The bean does not have enough cocoa butter content to make a smooth chocolate once you grind it and expose all the surface area of the cocoa bean solid. This recipe starts out even lower in fat since it uses coca powder, basically a defatted ground cocoa bean. The issue with cocoa butter is it has multiple crystal states and has to be tempered correctly or you will get bloom. An interesting fact is that cocoa powder is one of the “waste” products from chocolate making since it requires additional,coca butter to make a smooth chocolate and you can not call it chocolate if you use too much non cocoa butter fats.

If anyone finds something great without erythritol, let us know.

Back when I worked for a cooking school, I got spoiled by the super high quality chocolate that we used. In addition to diabetics, there are a growing number of people who are pre-diabetic, insulin resistant and reactive hypoglycemic who really need to restrict sugar intake. I’ve also read that sugar as well as salt make contribute to high blood pressure and cancer. Let’s agree that sugar isn’t too good for us, and that, even we who love chocolate, need to keep it to a minimum. Hi Barb, That can definitely be it. Losing when you are close to goal can be more difficult. It could also be that your body’s healthy weight is a little higher than what you’d like – which doesn’t mean you can’t lose, but makes it more difficult. If just eating Keto foods isn’t working, double check the macros for your weight and see if the amount you’re eating needs to be adjusted. The base of this recipe is cacao butter (also known as cocoa butter), which is a creamy fat that is solid at room temperature. It may be available at a health food store, but I get mine on Amazon. If you can't find cacao butter, you can use coconut oil. However, if you do use oil, you must keep the chocolates chilled, even once they are set. Coconut oil will be too soft at room temperature.

4] I powder my vanilla beans with another powder that’s easy to work with[I use aribinogalactin or coral calcium, etc.] but even just monk fruit or stevia but i usually add stevia separately…keeping in a small jar with a bitty scoop, there no worries about oils and water not mixing as with most vanilla. I grind my beans in a coffee grinder. This vanilla is to die for…

If you can't have candy with real sugar then these are passable, but not much better, if at all, than say a Hershey sugar-free dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is usually more dense (so not soft, right?) and not as sweet as milk chocolate. These need a firm bite and the overall taste is just ok (but at least there is no chemical after taste as with some sugar free stuff), but they served the purpose. Main gripe is, at least with this seller, you have to order enough candy bars to supply a neighborhood of diabetes patients (like me). So, still searching, but in the meantime munching away at second of 24 bars!

Some people on a keto or low carb diet choose to count total carbs instead of net carbs. This makes it more difficult to fit in more leafy greens and low carb vegetables (which are filled with fiber), so you should only try that if you don’t get results with a net carb method. And, start with reducing sugar alcohols and low carb treats before deciding to do a “total carbs” method.

Chocolate is very sensitive to temperature and humidity. Ideal storage temperatures are between 15 and 17 °C (59 and 63 °F), with a relative humidity of less than 50%. If refrigerated or frozen without containment, chocolate can absorb enough moisture to cause a whitish discoloration, the result of fat or sugar crystals rising to the surface. Various types of "blooming" effects can occur if chocolate is stored or served improperly.[70]
I am wheat & dairy free for other allergy related conditions so find it hard to stick with the low carb diet. I simply cannot do any cream or milk products & tolerate small amounts of cheese. I find food very boring & then fall back on the gluten free junk. I have added coconut cream/ yoghurt & almond milk to smoothies with berries or a banana plus protein powder for breakfast. I know the banana not great but really miss real fruit. Frozen berries for most of the year not really doing it for me. Any ideas for snacks and treats that r still low carb so I don’t feel like a total ‘food leper’ my husband’s tongue in check explanation for me.

This is going to become a Christmas Day staple at our house. We celebrate our Southern Hemisphere Christmases with beach visits and sprinkler play, and turning on the oven for more than ten minutes seems very wrong when it’s 37 degrees C. I managed to whip this up on Christmas morning (we had a quiet one this year). It tasted amazing and looked beautifully festive. Thanks to the detailed instructions, I managed the pudding bit with very few lumps and felt very proud. The finished product is huge – I agree that it would be great for a special occasion; there’s really too much for one family unless you have a lot of people around. I made it circular like a pie and stuck the leftovers in the freezer – it froze beautifully, and tasted like ice-cream cake when frozen. The one thing I would do differently next time is to make the first two layers the day before as the method suggests. It wasn’t really cold and set enough to layer the cream on easily and I had to be super careful not to mess up the chocolate pudding layer.
Sugar’s ability to caramelize also plays a major role in the golden brown color which makes cookies look appetizing. It’s easy to achieve the same effect when making sugar free cookie recipes for diabetics by coating your cookies with something which will brown in the oven. One very easy way is to lightly spray your cookies with cooking spray just before placing them in the oven. Another way is to brush them with a little milk or whipped egg white just before you bake them. Egg white, in particular, adds gloss as well as browning.

I just made this however I did not use any sweetner. My mixture was quite thick and it was difficult to figure out how much in grams a cup of cocoa powder is for mine it was 90 grams. Is there any way to make it more of milk chocolate bar? I also only have Erythritol Powder for my Sweetner would this work in the recipe? If so how much of it would i need.
BHB salts are a very useful tool to calm the hangry beast and establish appetite control. If you use 1 tsp to 1 Tbsp of the powder in 4 oz of water when you feel inappropriately hungry, it will raise your blood ketone concentration enough to satisfy your hypothalamus for at least a couple of hours. The blend tones down the acidity of the KetoCaNa product and provides the best overall taste to my palate. You won’t need it every day, only when you feel like you need appetite control.

Hi. I tried making the zucchini tortillas for the first time this week. They did cook and sort of brown, but they did not look as golden color as the ones in your picture. Also, the inside did not seem to cook as much and was still like the batter. So the outside was dry and cooked but the inside was mostly uncooked. Where did I go wrong? I want to try it again!

Hi Cherie, you can use coconut milk. Some people have had problems with the chocolate layer setting up when the almond milk is mixed with it the next day. It’s usually because they didn’t cook the pudding long enough. If your pudding isn’t super thick and almost solid, then don’t add the extra milk. Hi Leila, I think you could, but I haven’t tried it. I’d recommend a powdered sweetener (Swerve Confectioner’s or Sukrin Melis) if you do this, so that the chocolate pudding layer is smooth. The replacement for the dark chocolate in the pudding layer should be approximately 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1 1/2 tbsp butter, and 3 tbsp powdered sweetener (may need to adjust to taste). Let me know how it goes if you try it!

The process was halted if sugar appeared in the person's urine.[48]:177–178 This diet was often administered in a hospital in order to better ensure compliance and safety.[48]:179
